Problem Solving Session: This is a 2 or 3 day session where subject matter experts with a problem work with Dr. Slocum in order to develop viable solutions. Various innovation techniques are used throughout and invention disclosures are completed throughout the session. The session will utilize the DMASI process (Define, Model, Abstraction, Solve, Implement). Dr. Slocum has solved over 4,000 problems in this manner.

 

Idea/Concept Generation Session: This is a 2 or 3 day session where subject matter experts are facilitated through various idea/concept generation methodologies in order to create new intellectual property. Invention disclosures are completed throughout the session.

 

Strategic Direction Session: This is a 2 or 3 day session where subject matter experts work with Dr. Slocum in order to establish the strategic intent and direction of a specific group. A preservation and evolution balance is identified and internal and competitive intelligence is mapped to the strategic space. A comprehensive plan is established to enhance the work product of this session.
 

Maturity Mapping: This process focuses on data collection and analysis of descriptors that indicate the maturity of an existing technology, product, or service. Data is collected from at least four descriptor categories (primary performance characteristic, number of patents, innovative level of patents, profitability) and analyzed. This analysis is synchronized with the theoretical standards from Maturity Mapping Theory and a composite maturity is identified. This allows for a greater knowledge of future market indications than ever before. This analysis aides Strategic Thought and Direction as well as Technology Forecasting.
 

Technology Forecasting: This process focuses on the prediction of the next evolutionary stages of a product, service, or technology. The current progression according to the Trends of Evolution is mapped and the future states are predicted using a forecasting algorithm. The paths to realization are created and prioritized and developmental plans are created. Intellectual property analysis is conducted in order to identify those paths that may be protected and which may need circumvention. The session will utilize the DMAPI process (Define, Map Maturity, Apply Patterns of Evolution, Plan the Multi-generational Product Plan, Implement).
